Rakesh is a culinary artist and entrepreneur bridging the vibrant food traditions of South India with Berlin's dynamic gastronomic scene.
Growing up in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Rakesh's culinary education began in his mother's kitchen. Here, he learned not just recipes, but the art of interpreting traditional dishes through a contemporary lens. This early exposure laid the foundation for his unique culinary style.
For the past six years, Berlin has been Rakesh's canvas. Through his pop-up venture, *mformittai*, he introduces authentic South Indian flavors to European palates with creativity and playfulness.

- Residency Period: January to June 2025, with two visits to Rhodes House in Oxford, culminating in an exhibition.

- Residency Duration & Stipend: Participate in a 10-week residency in Cassis, France, with a stipend of €350 per week (totaling €3,500) and basic transportation covered

🎉✨NYC Arts Mentoring and Grants for Immigrants:
-Apply for NYFA's free Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program for visual and multidisciplinary artists.
- Receive one-on-one mentorship, group support, and professional development in NYC.
- Submit your application with work samples and a personal statement by the deadline.
🎨🌟 FUNDED Braunschweig Projects 2025–26 Scholarships for Artists!
- Funding and Support: Artists can receive a monthly scholarship of €1,400 for 12 months, with access to project and travel cost allowances, and a rent-free studio apartment available for a small monthly fee.
- Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must hold a completed art degree from a program finished between April 2014 and April 2021, and demonstrate extensive artistic practice and exhibition experience.
